San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey wore this gray button-down Giants road jersey on September 24th, 2016 against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park. Posey led the Giants to a 9-6 win in 10 innings, scoring the Giants opening run of the game in the first inning and collecting his 71st RBI of the season with a fielder’s choice to plate Madison Bumgarner in the fourth frame. Kelby Tomlinson knocked an RBI single in the 10th inning to put the Giants up 7-6 before Denard Span’s two-run homer solidified the score line at its 9-6 final. Posey, the 2012 National League MVP, finished the 2016 season with a .288 batting average, 14 homers, 80 RBI, and 33 doubles. The former National League Rookie of the Year made his fourth All-Star team in 2016 and won his first Gold Glove award for defense behind the dish.
This offered Giants road jersey features “SAN FRANCISCO” sewn across the chest in black, orange, and gold tackle twill. “POSEY” and his number “28” are sewn on the back of the jersey in the same fashion. A Giants logo and a black Majestic logo are sewn on the left sleeve, while memorial patches for Monte Irvin and Jim Davenport are sewn on the right sleeve. An MLB logo is sewn on the back outside collar. The side panels and back tail of the jersey are constructed of a gray mesh fabric. A Majestic size “46” tag and a Giants barcode tag with a handwritten “2” are applied to the jersey. This jersey comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (JB 992864).
