Florida Marlins left fielder Miguel Cabrera continued his hot start to his career with an absolutely scorching 2005 season. The Venezuelan masher slugged 33 homers with 116 RBI, 43 doubles, and a titanic .323 batting average in only his age-22 season. Cabrera was named to the National League All-Star team for the second consecutive season while winning his first Silver Slugger and placing fifth in the National League MVP race.

Offered in this lot is a white Marlins button-down home jersey worn by Cabrera during the 2005 campaign. This pinstriped jersey features “MARLINS” sewn on the chest in black, metallic silver, and teal tackle twill. Cabrera’s number “24” is sewn on the chest and back in black, metallic silver, teal, and white tackle twill, while “CABRERA” is sewn across the back shoulders in the same fashion. A Marlins logo patch and a Majestic logo are sewn on the left sleeve. A Majestic tag and a “24 52 05 398” swatch are sewn on the front left tail. Cabrera has signed the “2” digit on the back of the jersey in silver marker, inscribing “05 Game Used” in addition to his signature.
