A beautiful 8x10 signed photo of the ill-fated Yankees catcher. Notorious for being a reluctant signer, Munson died in a plane crash in 1979 at the age of 32 and any signed pieces from the Yankee great are few and far between. To have his signature on such a nice photograph as this 1971 Arco Oil premium is rare indeed. Clean shaven and smiling Munson photos are almost non existent, and signed versions simply are impossible. Munson has signed the photo in blue ballpoint (9/10) just above his printed facsimile autograph. The Arco premium shows slight wear to the edges and a stray blue ballpoint mark can be seen on the bottom right corner, most likely made by Munson himself as he signed the piece. PSA/DNA sticker number S01325 is affixed to the back of the piece and it has been encapsulated by them and given the grade of 9. LOA from PSA/DNA and JSA (cert X26111).
