Former first overall pick and three-time American League MVP Alex Rodriguez continued his climb up the all-time home run list with his 660th career blast against the Boston Red Sox on May 1st, 2015 at Fenway Park. Rodriguez’s solo home run in the eighth inning off Junichi Tazawa put the Yankees ahead 3-2, with Dellin Betances and Andrew Miller combining to hold off the Red Sox and give Esmil Rogers his first victory of the season. Rodriguez tied Willie Mays with number 660, and the former Mariner and Ranger finished the season with 687 of his 696 career homers. Rodriguez enjoyed a bounce-back season in his penultimate MLB campaign of 2015, crushing 33 home runs and driving in 86 RBI to bring the Yankees to yet another MLB Postseason.
