Encapsulated with Signature assessed "Authentic" by SGC/JSA. Hall of Famer. The blank back side of a flooring contractor's business card bears the lavish and largely scripted autograph of the first black Heavyweight Champion of the World, pugilistic legend Jack Johnson (1878-1946). The boxing great added a proud and clear inscription: "Former Champ of the World." The reigning titlist from 1908 through 1915, Johnson was the subject of persistent controversy – but he remained largely undaunted by the time's unfavorable racial climate.
