Graded FR 1.5 by SGC. Hall of Famer. Card number 68 in Fleer's 1959 tribute to Ted Williams was withdrawn from production because the company didn't have permission to use the image of Red Sox General Manager Bucky Harris, who is pictured on this card with Ted as he signs his contract for the 1959 season. Ted was such a tremendous "draw" for card manufacturers that companies annually fought for his contract. An aggressive (and no doubt very generous) campaign by Fleer resulted in that company securing his cooperation for its 80-card Williams production. Here's a very satisfactory, Fair condition example of this modern rarity.
