Michael Jordan & Summer Premium Auction Closing July 18 10PM Eastern

Presented is a Michael Jordan signature on a souvenir ticket to “A Salute to Michael Jordan”, held November 1, 1994 at the United Center in Chicago. Jordan stunned the basketball world when he announced his retirement from the Bulls and the NBA following the 1992-93 season. A contributing factor was the murder of Jordan’s father James in July of 1993. Paying homage to Michael and his father a year later, the Bulls organized “A Salute To Michael Jordan” night on November 1, 1994 three days before the Bulls would open the regular season. The Bulls retired Jordan’s famous number “23” and donated some of the proceeds from this event to the planned James Jordan Boys & Girls Club, a recreation and education facility in Chicago dedicated to the memory of Jordan’s late father. The NBA superstar has signed his name in black marker across the bottom third of the ticket, which features red and black printing on white cardstock with a silhouette of Jordan driving to the basket, and his number “23” in red type. Jordan won six NBA Championship titles with the Chicago Bulls (1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998) and was the Finals MVP all six times. Jordan would come out of retirement later that season and wear number 45 for the remainder of that season. This item comes with a letter of authenticity from JSA (Z29096).
