Former NBA guard Maurice Cheeks was instrumental in guiding the Philadelphia 76ers to their last World Championship in 1983. Cheeks spent 15 seasons in the NBA where he was a 4-time All-Star and a 4-time NBA First-Team All-Defense selection. After being traded to the San Antonio Spurs to start the 1989-90 season, Cheeks was again traded during the season in February of 1990 when the Spurs sent Cheeks to the New York Knicks.

This offered New York Knicks road blue mesh jersey was worn by Cheeks during the 1989-90 season and has been photo matched by Resolution Photomatching. This jersey was manufactured by MacGregor Sand-Knit and is a size 42. “NEW YORK” and Cheeks’ number “1” is sewn on the front in orange and white tackle twill. The back has “CHEEKS” sewn on in white tackle twill and “1” sewn on in orange and white tackle twill. A “GERRY COSBY” tag is sewn on the inside back collar and the MacGregor Sand-Knit 42 tag is sewn on the bottom left front tail. Above the MacGregor tag is a white tag that reads “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for NEW YORK KNICKS”. Please note that the left side of the tag is not attached. There are two additional tags on the bottom front left tail – an “89” and “2” LB” tags. The open arms and collar are bordered with orange and white stripes and the NBA logo is embroidered on the upper left chest. This jersey comes with a LOA from MEARS (316984) for the game use and graded it a solid A8.5. There is also a LOA from Resolution Photomatching, who have photo matched this jersey to an undated photo from the 1989-90 season.
