One of the more well know players turned manager, Lou Piniella started his career playing for the Orioles in 1964 and also played with the Indians, Royals and Yankees. His first opportunity to manage came with the Yankees in 1986. He then went on to manage the Reds, Mariners, Devil Rays, and Chicago Cubs. He won two World Series Championships as a player with the Yankees and managed the Reds to the title in 1990. This Hillerich &Bradsby Louisville Slugger Model#S2 bat is made from ash and features a flame burned finish. The bat weighs 31.1 ounces, is 34 inches long, and was used between 1980-1983. This bat shows nice signs of game use with several ball marks, stitch impressions, and spike marks on the barrel. Blue ink marks are seen on the barrel, while blue bat-rack marks are found throughout the barrel and knob. There are heavy signs of pine tar on the handle, while “Sweet Lou Piniella” is signed on barrel in blue marker. Bat grades as an GU-8. LOA by PSA/DNA#U69474 and #1B05767.
