A collection of 24 different bagged sets is presented. Here are many of the short-lived Star Company's most significant and sought-after productions, presented in a carefully well-preserved array. These complete sets – still in their original bags as distributed by the manufacturer – have been maintained in a true "factory-fresh" state. Among the sets' contents are never-touched, condition-sensitive examples of early star cards featuring Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Patrick Ewing, Dominique Wilkins and many others. Star Co. held exclusive licensing and thus owned the basketball card market in 1984, and the company produced about four thousand 288-card NBA sets – with each of the league's teams bagged separately. The sought-after Rookie Card of Michael Jordan (#101) shows through one factory-sealed bag's surface on the item's front; the star's "1984 Gold Medalist" collectible (#195) appears at the top of another and #288 on the bottom. The packs' contents are presumably NM to NM/MT or finer throughout.
