Eddie Mathews spent 17 years in MLB, mostly playing third base for the Braves. He led the NL in home runs twice, 1953 and 1959. He hit 512 HRs and compiled a career batting average of .271. His teammate Henry “Hammerin’ Hank” Aaron broke Babe Ruth’s HR record in 1974 and also won the 1957 NL MVP, the 1956 & 1959 NL batting titles, and appeared in All-Star games for 25 consecutive years. The barrel of this pristine, 34-inch, Model 125 Hillerich & Bradsby Co. Louisville “Slugger” has been engraved with “512 H R LIFETIME Ed Mathews 493 H R BRAVES” on one side and “755 H R LIFETIME Henry Aaron 733 H R BRAVES” on the other. Each Hall of Famer boldly signed in vivid blue Sharpie, Aaron beneath his header and Mathews above his. A COA from PSA/DNA (#T06711) accompanies this item.
