Houston Astros ace Justin Verlander wore this orange Astros alternate jersey on September 27th, 2017, for his final start of the 2017 regular season. Verlander, traded to Houston from Detroit in July, finished the year on an incredible 5-0 tear with the Astros, maintaining a 1.06 ERA and 11.2 strikeouts per nine innings rate with the American League West ballclub. On the 27th, Verlander pitched six strong innings of two-run ball as the Astros mashed their way to a 12-2 win against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Park in Arlington. The 2011 American League Cy Young and MVP struck out 11 Rangers and walked none as Carlos Correa and George Springer recorded four RBI apiece to push Verlander’s season record to 15-8. Verlander was named the 2017 American League Championship Series MVP as the Astros claimed the 2017 World Series title over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

This offered Astros alternate jersey is an orange button-down, with “ASTROS” and Verlander’s number “35” sewn on the chest in navy and white tackle twill. A Houston Strong patch is sewn on the left chest. “VERLANDER” and a second “35” are sewn on the back of the jersey in navy and white tackle twill. A Majestic size “48” tag is applied to the front left tail. A circular Astros patch and a Majestic logo are sewn on the left sleeve. This historic jersey comes with an MLB Authenticated hologram (JC288440), dating its use to the September 27th game.
