When Muhammad Ali decked Sonny Liston in the first round of their second fight on May 25, 1965, heavyweight boxing changed forever. The flamboyant, swift, bombastic conquistador that Ali was in (and out of) the ring is captured in this replica white, 100% polyester Everlast boxing robe that has been signed by Ali and bears a Gregg Packer hand-painted color image of Ali glowering over a fallen Liston on the left-front torso. Ali's signature (grade 9 - 10) is boldly signed in vivid blue Sharpie above the Packer painting and below the Everlast woven tag on the left chest. The signature has been certified by Online Authenticators.com (#OA-8206065). The Packer painting is life-like, reflecting the iconic moment immediately after Ali caught Liston with a chopping right and sent him sprawling to the canvas, the so-called "phantom punch." Ali glares down at Liston, shouting "Get up and fight, Sucker" Packer has signed and dated his work. The long-sleeved robe is white with black collar, lapels, and cuffs. Woven gray, black and white Everlast insignias (Everlast/Boxing Equipment/ EST. 1910/Bronx, New York) adorn the left and right breast, left and right upper sleeve, and upper back.
