When Alex Rodriguez retired during the 2016 season, he was fourth on the all-time career home run list, only trailing Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron and Babe Ruth. Rodriguez’s 405th career home run came during the July 14th game between the Yankees and Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. Rodriguez’s ninth-inning 2-run home run off Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling was the 24th home run of the season and 405th of his storied career. Rodriguez’s home run was also the difference in the game as the Yankees defeated the Red Sox 8-6.

This is the very Louisville Slugger P72 model bat that Rodriguez used to hit his 24th home run of the 2005 season and 405th of his career during that July 14th, 2005 game. This bat displays outstanding game use and is un-cracked. There are numerous ball marks, stitch impressions, white leather scuffs and cleat imprints present on the barrel. There is a coating of Mota Stick on the handle. Rodriguez signed his name in silver marker on the barrel and inscribed “game used HR#24 Career 405 Game Winner vs Schilling”. This bat comes with a LOA from Alex Rodriguez attesting that he used this bat to hit his 24th home run of the season and 405th of his career.
