Gary Sheffield was the National League’s starting third baseman in the 1993 All-Star Game at Baltimore’s new Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Sheffield represented the brand-new Florida Marlins and he did the new team proud by hitting a first inning home run off the Angels’ Mark Langston to get the NL on the board. Sheffield would have a long and productive career, finishing with over 500 home runs. Sheffield used this Mizuno 17 model bat during the 1993 season as this bat displays outstanding game use with a slight crack on the handle. There are ball marks, black ink transfers and bat rack streaks on the barrel. The bat’s model number “17” is stamped on the knob and Sheffield has signed his name in black marker on the barrel, inscribing “#10” and “93” below. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B19681) for the game use and has been given a very high grade of GU 9, plus a LOA from Beckett Authentication (A31841) for Sheffield’s signature.
