Three of baseballs greatest hitters are represented here on this Official American League William Harridge stamped baseball – Ted Williams, Ty Cobb and Rogers Hornsby. Williams, the holder of 2,654 hits and a lifetime .344 average, signed his name on the sweet spot in blue pen. Baseball’s second leading hitter, Ty Cobb, signed his name with his trademark green pen on the north panel above Williams’ sweet spot signature and inscribed “3/16/58”. Cobb retired as the all-time hits leader with 4,189 hits in 1928 and held that record until it was broken by Pete Rose in 1985. Cobb also had a lifetime average of .366, the best in baseball history. Hornsby signed his name in blue pen on the west panel below Cobb’s green pen signature. Hornsby retired as a player in 1937 and finished his career with 2,930 career hits and a .358 batting average, having won the National League Batting Title seven times. A truly one-of-a-kind baseball featuring a trio of Hall of Famers that had a combined 9,773 hits. This ball comes fully authenticated with a LOA from JSA (Z67292).
