The start to Mike Trout’s Major League Baseball career couldn’t have been scripted better, as the 20-year old took home the American League Rookie of the Year Award in 2012 while finishing 2nd in the MVP race. He followed that up with another 2nd place finish in MVP voting in 2013, so there was expectation throughout the league that the third season would be the MVP charm for Trout. He did not disappoint, batting .287 with a then-career high 36 home runs and 111 RBI to finally capture his first of his three MVP Awards.

Trout used this Old Hickory MT27* model bat during his MVP 2014 season and has been photo matched to his 13th home run of that season and 75th of his career. Trout connected off of Atlanta Braves pitcher Gavin Floyd in the top of the sixth inning of the June 14th, 2014 game hitting it to deep left-center field at Turner Field. Trout’s 3-for-6 day with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored helped lead the Los Angeles Angels to an 11-6 victory.

This bat displays outstanding game use and has a slight crack on the handle. There are ball marks, stitch impressions, blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs present on the barrel. The lower handle has been taped in a spiral pattern to enhance the grip and the middle and upper handle has a light coating of pine tar. “27” is handwritten in black marker on the knob. Trout has signed this bat in contrasting silver marker on the black barrel and inscribed “27”. A great gamer from Trout’s first MVP season and attributed to a specific home run. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B11843) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9.5 and photo matched to his 13th home run of the 2014 season and 75th of his career. There is also a LOA from Beckett Authentication for the signature.
