By 1964, Sandy Koufax was the most successful pitcher in the game and in the midst of becoming the greatest lefty of all-time. On June 4th he threw his third no-hitter in three years and finished the season with a 19-5 record, led the league in ERA, winning percentage, shutouts and strike outs per nine innings. These home white Spalding pants show light game use with only a small hole on its right rear end area. All buttons are present except for the right rear pocket which is missing. The manufacturer’s label is stitched into the waistband along with washing instructions and a “SET 1 1964” hand tag. A white strip tag with “Koufax 36 26 1/2 ins” is sewn into the back of the waistband. Number “37” has been hand-written in black marker and then crossed out. The white flannel has taken on an attractive soft, warm hue over time. This pair of pants comes with a full letter of authenticity from game used expert Dave Miedema.
