2003 was the penultimate season with the Chicago Cubs for slugger Sammy Sosa. Sosa continued his productive ways with the Cubs as he hit 40 home runs for the sixth season in a row and seventh in eight seasons. Sosa also added 103 RBI and maintained a solid .279 average as the Cubs advanced all the way to the NLCS before falling to the eventual World Champion Florida Marlins. Offered here is a X-Bat SS21 model bat that was issued to Sosa for the 2003 season. This bat does not display any game use and is un-cracked. “MODEL SS21 SAMMY SOSA PRO MAPLE 34.5” is stamped on the barrel and the Dominican Republic flag is printed on the upper handle. “33” is handwritten in silver marker on the cupped barrel end. Sosa has signed his name in silver marker on the barrel and inscribed “#21”. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B19253) and a STICKER ONLY from Beckett Authentication (N64595) for Sosa’s signature.
