Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant wore this road jersey during the 2007-08 NBA season and has been photo matched to the May 25th and May 27th playoff games against the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Finals. Bryant scored 30 points in Game 3 and 28 points in Game 4 as the Lakers earned a split to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. Bryant won his first and only NBA MVP award that year, averaging 28.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.8 steals in 38.9 minutes per game. Under Bryant’s veteran leadership, the Lakers won 57 games and the Pacific Division title during the 2007-08 season, blowing by the Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz, and San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Playoffs. Although the Lakers would go on to win the 2008-09 and 2009-10 NBA titles, they were unable to unseat the Boston Celtics in a hard-fought, six-game NBA Finals in June of 2008. Bryant played until 2016, ending his career with a gutsy 60-point performance, as well as 18 All-Star appearances, five NBA titles, and two Finals MVP awards.
The jersey has “LAKERS” sewn on the chest in yellow and white tackle twill, with the former Lower Merion High School standout’s number “24” sewn on the chest and back in similar white and yellow tackle twill. “BRYANT” is sewn across the back shoulders in yellow and white twill. A Lakers 60th anniversary patch is sewn on the upper right chest, and an NBA logo patch is sewn on the upper left. An Adidas tag with attached size “54”, CLIMALITE, “2007-2008”, and “LENGTH +4” flags is sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. The wishbone collar and sleeve openings are ringed with a yellow band, while a yellow and white stripe runs down both sides of the jersey. Bryant signed his name in blue marker diagonally on the “4” on the back. This jersey comes with a LOA from Sports Investors Authentication, who have photo matched this jersey to Games 3 & 4 of the Western Conference Finals played on May 25th and May 27th, plus a LOA from the Los Angeles Lakers with corresponding holograms (LL014598) on the jersey and LOA for Kobe’s signature.
