In the 1920s, Spalding’s Babe Ruth “Home Run Special” baseball was the most desirable ball available. They were manufactured to the exact standards as official major-league balls, complete down to the red-and-blue stitching, indicating this ball is an earlier vintage, as later models were completed only with red stitching. These balls were also special as they included the endorsement the King of them all – Babe Ruth. These balls carried the Babe Ruth printed signature, a huge treat for the average fan that never had the opportunity to obtain the real McCoy.

One lucky person was able to get the two greatest players in New York Yankees’ and baseball history to sign this Babe Ruth Home Run Special stamped ball – the ball’s namesake Babe Ruth and the original Iron Man Lou Gehrig. Ruth has signed his name in his customary sweet spot location in bold black pen. Please note that there is slight bleeding of his signature. Gehrig signed his name on the west panel with the Spalding stamp. Additional inscriptions have been added to this ball in unknown hands as “3/8/32” was inscribed below each signature, with an addition inscription that reads “To Junior Demras (sic) Sr.” on Gehrig’s panel. Led by Ruth and Gehrig, the Yankees would win the World Series in 1932, the last title for Ruth/Gehrig combo. This ball displays toning and has other stains and marks. The signatures and inscriptions have slight bleeding, but still present beautifully. This comes with a LOA from JSA (BB60618) for Ruth and Gehrig’s signatures and inscriptions.
