Offered is a Mickey Mantle autographed baseball, on which the legendary New York Yankees slugger has signed “Oklahoma Kid” in blue ink across the side panel of the Official American League Bobby Brown baseball. Mantle’s signature and inscription were penned on the panel west of the stamped sweet spot. Mantle, who grew up in Commerce, Oklahoma and was nicknamed “The Commerce Comet”, played his entire Major League Baseball career with the New York Yankees as a centerfield and first baseman from 1951 through 1968. Renowned as one of the best players and sluggers, he is regarded by many as the greatest switch hitter in baseball history. Mantle was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY in 1974. The ball displays toning and other markings and comes with a LOA from JSA for Mantle’s signature and inscription.
