Hall of Fame pitcher Robin Roberts is best known for his many years with the Philadelphia Phillies where he won 234 games and was an All-Star in seven of those 14 seasons. After his long tenure with the Phillies, Roberts joined the Baltimore Orioles in 1962, where he would spend another three-plus seasons. Despite being in his mid-to-late 30’s, Roberts was solid in Baltimore, combining to go 42-36 with a 3.06 ERA. Roberts’ last full season in Baltimore was in 1964, where he finished with a 13-7 record and 2.91 ERA in 25 starts. That’s what makes this offered Baltimore Orioles jersey all the more special – a Hall of Famer game worn jersey.

This size 46 road gray flannel zipper-front jersey was worn by Roberts in 1964. This amazing jersey has all of the original letters and numbers still intact with no repairs present. “Baltimore” and a paraph are sewn on across the front in orange and black felt. Also, on the front left center is Roberts’ number “38”, which has was sewn on in the same orange and black felt. There is black piping that runs around the collar and down both sides of the zipper. A navy Spalding tag, which displays some fraying on the outsides, is sewn on the front left tail. The inside collar has a gray patch with “64 2 38 46” embroidered in black that indicate the year, set number, player number and size. A wash tag is sewn on the inside front left tail and the armpits have vented holes. The back of this jersey has Roberts “38” sewn on in orange and black felt. The left sleeve has remnants of the patch that was worn by the Orioles that season, the “STAR-SPANGLED BANNER SESQUINCENTENNIAL 1814-1964”. This jersey displays heavy game use with soil marks and other staining with Roberts signing his name in black marker below his number on the front and inscribing “HOF 76”. This jersey comes with a LOA from MEARS (316822) for the game use and has been give a high grade of A8. MEARS deducted 1 point for the missing patch and 1 point for the frayed Spalding tag/missing size flag tag. Additionally, there is a LOA from Beckett Authentication for the signature.
