Breaking his career long 0 for 29 post-season slump with men in scoring position, the Yankees third baseman had spectacular 2009 World Series against the Phillies. In Game 4 he drove in the go-ahead run in the 9th inning and went 2 for 4 with 3 RBI in Game 5. He capped off the Yankees World Series victory by going 1 for 2 with 2 walks and 2 runs scored in the final Game 6. With any post-season jinx irrevocably broken, A-Rod was named series MVP and awarded the coveted Babe Ruth Award. This 2009 Series used Louisville Slugger C271L bat shows tremendous game use. Ball and stitch marks cover the barrel, particularly on the back side. The bat appears unbroken and the handle has a light coat of pine tar. The knob end has the order date (6/19/09) and length/weight (34/32oz) stamped in silver. PSA/DNA sticker number 1B03748 is affixed to the barrel end. Bat is graded a GU 8.5 A-Rod has signed the bat on the barrel in sliver ink adding “2009 World Champions Game Used”. MLB hologram sticker LH 821945 is affixed to the barrel. COA from MLB and PSA/DNA.
