Presented is a Gene Wilder signed “Willy Wonka” Golden Ticket. The late actor, who starred as the title character in the 1971 musical film “Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory,” has signed his name in black marker in the upper right corner of the 4 x 7-inch gold metal plaque. The plaque is engraved in black with the legend, “Wonka’s Golden Ticket Greetings to you, the lucky finder of this GOLDEN TICKET, from Mr. Willy Wonka. Present this ticket at the factory gates at ten o’clock in the morning of the first day of October and do not be late. You may bring with you one member of your own family…and only one…but no one else…...In your wildest dreams you could not imagine the marvelous SURPRISES that await YOU!”. Famously, when Wilder was cast for the role, he accepted it on one condition: “When I make my first entrance, I'd like to come out of the door carrying a cane and then walk toward the crowd with a limp. After the crowd sees Willy Wonka is a cripple, they all whisper to themselves and then become deathly quiet. As I walk toward them, my cane sinks into one of the cobblestones I'm walking on and stands straight up, by itself; but I keep on walking, until I realize that I no longer have my cane. I start to fall forward, and just before I hit the ground, I do a beautiful forward somersault and bounce back up, to great applause.” The reason why Wilder wanted this in the film was that "from that time on, no one will know if I'm lying or telling the truth".
