Offered is a Babe Ruth and Claire Ruth dual-signed vintage photograph of his second wife showing off her left arm while a woman seated next to her looks on. The Hall of Fame New York Yankees slugger has inscribed “Ask Santa Claus for three catchers Mitts Yours Babe Ruth" in blue pen in the lower left of the 8 x 10-inch black and white photo, while his wife has signed "To my three heroes Your Pal "Nuts," Claire Ruth" in blue pen in the lower right. The back of the photo is stamped in black ink “Freeman Detroit Times Photo”. On April 17, 1929 (only three months after the death of his first wife, Helen) Ruth married actress and model Claire Merritt Hodgson and adopted her daughter Julia. It was the second and final marriage for both parties. Claire, much unlike Helen, was well-travelled and educated, and went on to put structure into Ruth's life, like Yankees manager Miller Huggins did with him on the field. This item has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA (K43484) which has graded both autographs NM-MT 8.
