Tino Martinez was a big reason the Yankees had their resurgence in the mid-1990’s. The Yankees first baseman’s arrival in the Big Apple coincided with the team’s first World Series Championship since 1978 in 1996. In 2000, Martinez hit .258 for the Bronx Bombers and helped lead the club to a one-sided victory over the New York Mets in the World Series that fall. Offered here is a pair of size 11 Nike all-black cleats worn by Martinez during the 2000 season. These cleats display excellent game use. Each cleat has a tongue flap with “24” embroidered in white and Tino’s signature in silver marker below with the inscription “2000 Champs”. The bottoms each have six metal spikes with the left shoe having more dirt on the soles than the right. The heels have “NIKE” embroidered in black on the white tops, while “24” is embroidered in white on the black centers. These cleats come with a LOA from J.T. Sports for the game use and individual LOAs from Beckett Authentication (A30921 & A30922) for the signatures and inscriptions.
