After spending his first nine years with the Atlanta Braves, catcher Brian McCann signed with the New York Yankees before the start of the 2014 season. After a slow start in the Bronx, McCann would go on to have a solid season, finishing with 23 home runs, 75 RBI and a .232 batting average in 140 games. McCann signed this button-down New York Yankees home white pinstripe jersey. The pinstriped jersey has the traditional interlocking “NY” sewn on in navy blue on the front and McCann’s number “34” sewn on in back. McCann signed his name on the “4” of his “34” in silver. Next in this lot is a game used Marucci AP5L-LDM Custom Cut bat that was used by McCann for the final time during the May 13th, 2014 game between the New York Mets and Yankees at Yankee Stadium. McCann broke this bat facing Mets’ pitcher Zack Wheeler in the bottom of the 5th inning for a single. This bat displays outstanding game use with a crack in the handle. There are ball marks and blue ink transfers present on the barrel. McCann’s number “34” is stamped on the knob in white, while the bat’s manufacture date “05/09/14”, along with the length “4” and weight “1” is also stamped on the knob. The final item in this lot is a navy Yankees team equipment bag. This bat has “NEW YORK YANKEES” and the interlocking “NY” logo on the ends in white and silver print.
