Offered is a Charles Fazzino original, limited edition “Celebrating 35 Years of Super Bowl” three-dimensional Pop-Art collage celebrating the history of the Super Bowl, signed by former New York Giants running back Tiki Barber and the artist. Barber has signed his name in gray graphite pencil in the lower left of the artwork and inscribed “21 NYG” below his signature. Fazzino has signed his name in gray graphite pencil in the lower right. Fazzino’s collage is in three layers all constructed by hand on white museum board. His artwork has been hand embellished with acrylic paint glitter and Swarovski crystals. This piece has been created using a hand printed silkscreen serigraphy process. The 14 x 18¼-inch collage celebrates the National Football League’s annual championship context with a three-layer representation of Super Bowl XXXV, played January 28, 2001 in Tampa, Florida, in which the Baltimore Ravens defeated the New York Giants, 34-7. Fazzino has depicted the view over Raymond James Stadium from above the south end zone looking towards the pirate ship in the north end zone of the stadium. The sky above Tampa is depicted with colorful fireworks and a blimp, and fireworks spelling “XXXV” in the upper center in pink, yellow and white. The Tampa skyline and palm trees below the fireworks and above the stadium frames Fazzino’s scene, with thousands of fans in the stands, pennants and captions including “M.V.P.”, “Super Champs” and “We  Want the Lombardi Trophy” dotting the stands on three sides. There are 35 individual captions with the logos of each Super Bowl game along with a flag with each year’s winner on both sidelines, and the endzone features the legend “Super Bowl” in red, white and blue. The scoreboard in the north endzone has the legend “Celebrating 35 Yrs. Of Super Bowl” accompanied by a pair of NFL shield logos. On the field are colorful images of the Giants and Ravens players and coaches, while on the sidelines are photographers, media and others with cameras, lights and microphones. In the lower center is a brown football with the Super Bowl XXXV logo. The collage is inscribed “44/50 DX” in gray graphite pencil in the lower left corner. The collage is displayed in a white matte with navy-blue and red accents and displayed in a 23½ x 28½-inch black wood and glass frame. This limited-edition of 300 total pieces was published by Museum Editions in 2001, with 50 DX editions of which this is #44. This item comes with a COA from Fazzino and a JSA Auction Letter.
