Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. Hall of Famer, in a popular Rookie Card depiction. Among a total of more than 1,050 copies recorded in PSA’s census reporting, just seventeen specimens have attained a higher, unqualified assessment. The 1961/62 Fleer basketball set, often criticized for uncertainty in its centering, receives far too little praise for its positive attributes. Beyond containing a fabulous gallery of superstars and rookies, the series features cards that put forth tremendous gloss and color, and their presence in high grade truly enlivens a collection. The offered prize, depicting hardcourt legend Oscar Robertson, is a splendid collectible from its sought-after issue. Fantastic image alignment for the issue distinguishes this early memento of a great player. Its condition is highly laudable, especially in consideration of the typically crudely cut product from which it hails. The card possesses sharp corners, blazing color graphics, and a super-crisp black-and-white image of the young Robertson. This is a standout specimen of a very popular player's first-year card, in Near Mint to Mint condition.
