Graded GEM MT 10 by PSA. Hall of Famer. Among a total of nearly 7,000 copies recorded in PSA’s census reporting, less than one-half of one percent have attained the PSA GEM MT 10 evaluation. This collectible – bearing the unassuming formal title, "Rookie Shortstops" – represents the debut-year appearance of two future Cooperstown enshrinees. A strong case can be made that this is one of the toughest 1970's Topps cards to find in true Mint condition. The entry is usually found with conspicuous print defects, including the notorious "blotch" typically found in the bottom-edge border. And, #707's centering is also almost never ideal. The offered example, however, possesses has every quality consistent with a Mint assessment, including choice attributes in centering, color, gloss, focus and corners. Paul Molitor and Alan Trammell both developed into estimable players: if Molitor had stayed healthy, he could have accumulated more than 4,000 hits, and Trammell was the Detroit Tigers' steady shortstop for almost two decades.
