Presented is a 1971 Donald Trump signed application to become a junior male member of the exclusive, members-only New York City night club, Le Club. The 45th President of the United States credits his experiences as a member of Le Club in the 1970s and 1980s for his rise to prominence in the New York City real estate industry as well as in Manhattan social circles. Trump signed his name in clear, bold letters “Donald Trump” in blue marker in the lower right of the 4 x 5-inch white card and inscribed the date “5/28/71” in blue marker at the lower left. The card is printed in blue “Application for Membership” with indications for contact information and status also printed in blue. Trump’s application is typed in back and gives his marital status as single and his business address as Brooklyn. He has “ticked” the box for “Junior Male Member (under 30 years) and given his date of birth as “6/14/46”. The reverse side of the card lists the two addresses for the two Le Club locations in mid-town Manhattan. The card is inscribed on the front upper right in red “OK-US”.  The Trump-signed membership application card is accompanied by a 2005 mass market paperback copy of Trump’s 1987 best-selling book “Trump The Art of the Deal”. On page 94 of the book, Trump wrote about his experiences at Le Club, noting that “at the time was the hottest club in the city and perhaps the most exclusive – like Studio 54 at its height…its membership included some of the most successful men and the most beautiful women in the world.” The paperback is loose from its glue binding in the center. This comes with a LOA from Beckett Authentication.
