The presence of Roberto Alomar in the Baltimore Orioles lineup was the final component needed to make the O’s a solid contender. In 1996, his first season with the Birds, Alomar teamed with Cal Ripken, Jr. to form a solid double play combo and his .328 bat helped propel the O’s to their first post-season berth since 1983. Alomar made his seventh All-Star team selection and earned his second Silver Slugger.
Offered here is a Rawlings/Adirondack 456B model bat used by the Hall of Famer Alomar during the 1996 season. This bat displays excellent game use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks and blue ink transfers present on the barrel. The bat’s model number “456B”, order number “170” and year “96” are stamped on the knob and Alomar’s number “12” is handwritten on the knob in black marker. Alomar has signed his name in black marker on the barrel and inscribed “12”. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B16601) for the game use and has been given a very high grade of GU 9, plus a LOA from Beckett Authentication for the signature.
