Pete Rose was named to his first All-Star team in 1965, his last in 1985 and was elected at five different positions over 17 All-Star seasons. This 35”, 37-ounce Rawlings Adirondack Pro Ring 302 model bat has "PETE ROSE 1985 ALL STAR" in block letters on the barrel. The bats sweet spot (between the label and barrel markings) is signed and inscribed in bold blue sharpie, “Pete Rose 17x All Star 1B-2B-3B LF & RF." The bat exhibits a few rack marks from being tossed into the Metrodome bat racks, but there is no evidence of any game use. In this game, Rose pinch hit for pitcher Fernando Valenzuela in the top of the 8th inning, grounding out to second base but since batters (especially those of Rose's tremendous career) were likely issued multiple bats, there is no way of being sure this bat was used in that game. However, it is an official 1985 All-Star game bat issued to Pete Rose for the last of his 17 All-Star appearances. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
