Presented is a lot of three Presidential Inauguration programs, including Grover Cleveland, Herbert Hoover, and John F. Kennedy. The first item in this lot is the “Official Program Inaugural Ceremonies Washington, D.C. March 4, 1929” for the inauguration of Herbert Hoover as the 31st president of the United States. The 7¾ x 10½-inch white paper program book features a black & white head & shoulder photograph of Hoover on the front cover above a smaller black and white head and shoulder photo of his vice president, Charles Curtis, set against an aerial photo of Washington, D.C. in the background. The interior pages feature photographs of the pair, as well as landmark buildings and monuments in the nation’s capital, along with biographical sketches, schedules, parade routes and names of donors and other officials. This item includes a cover envelope with the legend from the front cover of the program book at the upper left. Please note that the envelope is torn at the right front edge from opening.

The second item in this lot is a 3¼ x 5-inch ivory paper booklet “Souvenir of the Inauguration Ball March 4th 1885” for the ceremonies in Washington, D.C. for Grover Cleveland as the 22nd president of the United States along with his vice president, Adlai Stevenson I. The pages are gilt-edged, with a gold ribbon binding and a gold pencil attached. The interior pages are printed in blue and yellow type on ivory paper and feature lists of officials and dignitaries as well as the menu for the dinner at the ball. The third item in this lot is a set of documents from the inauguration of John F. Kennedy as the 35th president of the United States. The documents include a 2½ x 4½-inch white cardstock ticket for the “January Twentieth 1961 Inauguration Ceremonies admit bearer to the Inaugural Platform East Front of Capital”, a 6¼ x 9-inch ivory paper “Inauguration Ceremonies Program” booklet with red, white and blue ribbon binding, and a four-page 6½ x 10-inch ivory paper invitation to the inauguration which includes black & white head & shoulder portrait photographs of Kennedy and his vice president, Lyndon Johnson. This third item also includes four copies of the four-page, 6¼ x 9½-inch ivory paper printed in black “Program for the Inaugural Ceremonies” as well as a copy of the four-page, 6¼ x 10½-inch ivory paper printed in black “Diagram of Seating on President’s Platform”. The documents come in a 7 x 10½-inch ivory paper envelope engraved with the caption “Congress of the United States” in the upper left front in blue gothic type, the inscription “No. 51” in black ink in the upper right, and the legend “President’s Platform South Buttress” in black type in the lower left.
