Cal Ripken, Jr.’s incredible record of 2,632 consecutive games transcended the baseball world. Americans were able to see something in themselves of The Iron Man’s work ethic, as it embodied the traditions the nation was founded on. When the streak is looked at in that perspective, it becomes clear why this item is included in this auction of keepsake’s Cal collected during his career. This American flag was the one that was flying over the United States Capitol on September 6, 1995 as Cal broke Lou Gehrig’s record. The 35 x 58-inch nylon flag has a “CF Flag Co.” makers stamp on the white spine and is in excellent condition. This flag card comes with a LOA from Cal Ripken, Jr. and Capitol Architect.
