One of the most significant milestones Cal Ripken, Jr. reached on his way to besting Lou Gehrig’s consecutive game record came on August 1, 1994. The Orioles were in the Metrodome playing the twins, and when Cal stepped onto the field that night, he became the only Major Leaguer besides Gehrig to play in 2,000 consecutive games. Cal’s Nike cleats show awesome game use with moderate scuffing and turf marks. The Iron Man has signed the outside heel of the right cleat in silver marker. The bottom of each cleat has a sticker affixed which Cal was written “I Believe These Are 2000th Game” and “I Know These Were In Minnesota That Series” in blue marker. These cleats come with a LOA from Cal Ripken, Jr. for the game use and signature and a certificate from Beckett Authentication stating they witnessed Cal Ripken, Jr. signing this item.
