Every Hall of Fame career starts somewhere, and this Little League uniform set shows where Cal Ripken, Jr. began his. The grey wool jersey and pants are trimmed in royal blue. There is a Wilson size “M” label in the collar of the jersey as well as another Wilson size “M” in the matching pants. The accompanying royal blue cap has a gold “A” on the front for Cal’s hometown of Aberdeen. The most touching part of this Little League lot is that the young Cal has hand written his number “7” under the cap’s brim, no doubt to emulate his father, who wore that number throughout his career with the Orioles organization. The jersey and pants show great game use, with overall toning and staining found throughout, most noticeably around the knees of the pants. The cap displays good wear, with turf marks and perspiration staining on the headband and brim. A great collection that was witness to the beginning of one of baseball’s most talented and beloved players. This uniform comes with a LOA from Cal Ripken, Jr. for the game use.
