During the two seasons this bat dates to, 1993-1994, Cal Ripken, Jr. hit .281 for Baltimore and slammed 88 extra base hits, all the while playing every single game as he pursued Lou Gehrig’s record of 2,130 consecutive games played. The Louisville Slugger P72 model bat displays awesome game use. The barrel is covered with ball marks that include leather ball marks and ink transfers. There are many bat rack paint streaks and abrasions from contact with other equipment. Both ends are chipped and scraped from contact with the ground and there is a coat of pine tar on the handle. Ripken’s immortal number “8” is on the knob in black paint. A real Hall of Fame gamer. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B19774) for the game use and has been given the highest possible grade of GU 10.
