Despite winning 95 games during the regular season, the 1960 Pittsburgh Pirates were severe underdogs to the mighty New York Yankees. But the Bucs provided the biggest upset in World Series history when they beat the powerful Yankees in seven games. They were completely dismantled during their three losses, losing each game by at least 10 runs! But, they managed to win three close games before Bill Mazeroski got himself elected to the Hall of Fame. This cream colored ONL Giles ball contains 23 blue ink signatures, grading (“7-9”), with a few lesser due to light scuffing on the ball. Includes: Dick Groat (sweet spot), Danny Murtaugh (label), Vinegar Mizell, Sam Narron, Bob Friend, Joe Christopher, Rocky Nelson, Dick Stuart, Vern Law, Len Levy, Harvey Haddix, Roberto Clemente (“7”), Elroy Face, Fred Green, Bill Mazeroski, Bob Skinner, Joe Gibbon, Smoky Burgess, George Witt, Dick Schofield, Bill Virdon, Gene Baker and Don Hoak. Under the Groat signature is printed “1960 BATTING CHAMP .325 AVG.” and under the Murtaugh signature is “MGR.,” both in blue ink while “1960 WORLD CHAMPS” is in red ink on a side panel. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication, cert number X18546.
