Offered is a lot of two 1970-1971 Muhammad Ali signed publications. The first item in this lot is a Muhammad Ali signed and inscribed front cover of the October 23, 1970 issue of LIFE Magazine featuring a color portrait of the boxer with the caption “Look out – he’s back A different Muhammad Ali returns to the ring”. Ali signed “Cassius Clay AKA Muhammad Ali” in broad black marker across the center of the cover over his chest. The second item in this lot is a Muhammad Ali signature in black marker across the top half of the front page of the March 9, 1971 issue of The New York Times newspaper. Ali has signed his name in the top center, at the lower right corner of a black & white photograph of Ali falling to the canvas in his first ring defeat at the hands of heavyweight champion Joe Louis at Madison Square Garden on March 8, 1971. The headline across the top left column reads “Frazier Outpoints Ali and Keeps Title”. This lot has been pre-certified by Beckett Authentication.
