Presented is a vintage Joe DiMaggio edition baseball spikes, boys’ size 6, with the original tag and box. The black leather shoes, never worn, are labelled “Rawlings Fleetfoot” on the tongue of the right shoe and comes with white laces and two metal cleats on the tan leather sole. The right shoe also features a 2 ½ x 3 ½ -inch white paper card attached with a yellow string, printed in green on one side with a photo of DiMaggio in his home New York Yankees uniform swinging a bat, a facsimile DiMaggio signature, and the legend “The Yankee Clipper”. The reverse features another facsimile DiMaggio signature and selected career highlights for the Hall of Fame New York Yankees centerfielder. Based on the information printed on the card, one can assume the shoes were marketed after he retired from the Yankees at the end of the 1951 Major League Baseball season. The pair of shoes come in the original 4 x 6½ x 13-inch cardboard shoe box with a faded red box top on the dark green box with a 3 x 6-inch paper label on one end. The label is printed in black, red, white, blue, and brown with a facsimile Joe DiMaggio signature, the legend “Baseball Shoes” and a color image of DiMaggio swinging a bat in his home Yankee uniform with blue sleeves. The box is inscribed on the label in black marker with the size (“6”) and the price (“6.95”), and the price is repeated and crossed out in the left edge.
