The Dodgers move from Brooklyn to Los Angeles in 1958 added a layer of luster and Hollywood star power to the storied franchise’s history. This affectionately accumulated collection serves as a time capsule of the Dodgers first 30 years in Los Angeles with a cornucopia of vintage memorabilia. In just the second year since relocating to the West Coast, the Dodgers captured their first World Series title in Los Angles and second overall, defeating the Chicago White Sox in six games. Souvenirs from the 1959 series in this lot include: 1) a 4” x 6” mini hand bag with the Los Angeles Dodgers one-year-old logo printed on one side and a painting of a pitcher dressed in blue facing a batter clad in red with the words: “World Champions 1959” written in between the two. The bag has been packed with paper to retain its shape and is remarkably good condition. 2) A “World Champions Dodgers” seat cushion is most likely in reference to 1959 as well, although it contains a cartoon image of the Dodgers’ Brooklyn “Bum” mascot, the white plastic cover is adorned with a blue cursive Dodgers logo and red and blue drawing of the “Bum” it’s a little weathered and worn but is not ripped or torn. 3) A Wellington Balboa cigarette lighter has a Dodgers ball log and the words: “World Champs 1959,” on one side and a depiction of a ball soaring out of the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and the Dodgers logo on the other side. 4) An “Official folder of the Los Angeles six post-card, double-sided set containing 4” x 6” photos of 1959 Dodgers including; Sandy Koufax, Don Drysdale, Duke Snider, Gil Hodges and other with ready-to-mail label. 5) Three general admission tokens are contained on a 3” x 5” wooden slab with a plexi-glass cover, and blue nameplate on the top side, green felt casters and a limited edition Los Angeles Dodgers 1962 Admission Tokens sticker #11642 on the underside. 6) A 1962, 2 ½ Dodger Stadium, Dodgers and Angels bronze medallion. 7) A 29” long “1963 World Series” blue-felt pennant reads: L.A. Dodgers vs. New York Yankees in white block letters and contains both team’s logos and a baseball with “1963” written between and around the seams. The pennant has red tassels on its straight-edged end and comes to a nice point at its opposite end with one thumb-tack hole near the point and another in the white felt trim border on the straight edge. There are some wrinkles and folds in the front part of the pennant but overall it’s in pretty good condition. 8) A 12” x 12” blue square pillow also celebrates the “Los Angeles Dodgers 1963 World Champions.” The pillow retains its original shape and firmness with a few dirt smudges and stains on the back. 9) A 1963 World Champion Sawyer Scenic Views mini-slide viewer in its original un-opened packaging containing three story cards with 21 full color scenes. 10) Another blue Los Angeles Dodgers pennant with Dodger Stadium depiction ad cartoon ballplayer in excellent condition with perfect point and only slight wrinkling. 11) Circular 4 ½” blue felt Los Angeles Dodgers patch with white lettering ballplayer depiction. 12) A Sandy Koufax photo key chain. 13) 1964 Sandy Koufax Union 76 lithograph print of overlapping Koufax ballplayer and civilian images with biographic and statistic text on the back. 14) 1964 Los Angeles Dodgers Baseball Card Game with folding-paper game board and 36 playing cards in near perfect condition in original 3” x 5” box. 15) A large Los Angeles Dodgers 1966 National League Champion team-photo, button pin measuring 6” across. 16) 1996 Topps baseball card display box with Sandy Koufax photo on side, top of box is separated at the fold. 17) 1966 Dodgers trip to Japan program, completely intact and in very good condition. 18) Sandy Koufax Scripto cigarette lighter. 19) Jackie Robinson Baseball Hall of Fame 3” photo button pin. 20) 1979 4” Dodgers National League Champion photo-montage, button pin. 21) Dodger Stadium 1962-1987 25th Anniversary 7” wooden infield diamond plaque. 22) 1988 Los Angeles Dodgers World Champions limited edition #448 of 10,000 Official MLB license pewter belt buckle. 23) Size 7 1/8” Tim McAuliffe wool L.A. Dodgers cap with number 23 written under the bill.
