Offered is a 1929 Haverford College vs. University of Delaware trophy Spalding football.  The dark brown leather Spalding Official Inter-Collegiate No. 15 football is inscribed in black pen “Haverford – 20 Delaware – 7 Nov. 23, 1929” on one panel.  The ball is inscribed “To Coach from The Team” in black pen with several signatures, all in black pen. The ball is damaged at one end with a black stain that obscures several of the Haverford College football player’s signatures. Both schools were vaunted small college programs in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania suburbs in the 1920s, with the Haverford Fords in the city’s Western suburbs, and the Delaware Blue Hens south of Philly in Newark, Delaware.
