Offered is a Charles Fazzino original, limited-edition “Soccer” three-dimensional Pop-Art collage celebrating sport in a framed display, signed by the artist. The “Master of 3-D Pop Art” signed his name in gray graphite pencil in the lower right of the collage. The collage is inscribed “212/475” in gray graphite pencil in the lower left corner and is inscribed “Soccer” with an image of a soccer ball at the lower center, also in gray graphite pencil. Fazzino’s 7 x 8-inch collage is in three layers all constructed by hand on white museum board. His artwork has been hand embellished with acrylic paint and glitter. This piece has been created using a hand printed silkscreen serigraphy process. The collage celebrates “Soccer” with a three-layer representation of game in progress with players in orange uniforms defending the goal from players with red and blue uniforms. Depicted in the lower portion of the collage are fans cheering, one wearing a shirt emblazoned “I (heart) Soccer” at the center. Behind the goal are depictions of advertising boards including Coke, Lufthansa, Bud, and JAL-Japan Air. Above the advertising boards are a large set of fans in the stands. In the background is a Nathan’s hot dog stand at the back right, below cartoon rainbows and clouds, a pink hot-air balloon, a parachute jumper in blue and yellow, and a cartoon sun wearing sunglasses. The collage is set within a white matte with green accent and a painted black & white soccer ball 3-D decal in the lower center of the mat, displayed in a 13¼ x 14¼-inch black wood and glass frame.
