Offered is a 2007 New York Islanders “Al Arbour Night” framed collage celebrating the Hall of Fame National Hockey League coach for his 1,500th career game coached on November 3, 2007, including official scoresheets and a color photograph. At the center of the framed display is an 8 x 11½-inch color photo of Arbour posed with the New York Islanders players, coaches, staff and other officials on the ice at the Nassau Coliseum, below a large white banner emblazoned in blue and orange “Arbour 1500”. The photo is mounted at the top center of a black with orange accents matte. Mounted below the photo is a 1¼ x 5-inch silver metal plaque engraved in black with the caption “Al Arbour Night The Scoresheet and Photo From the 1500th Game Coached on November 3, 2007”. Mounted at the left is a blue 8½ x 11-inch National Hockey League Official Report of Match inscribed in black pen with the lineups and notes from the November 3, 2007 NHL contest featuring the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins versus the host Islanders. Mounted at the right is a blue 8½ x 11-inch “National Hockey League Score Sheet” for the game inscribed in black pen, noting that the Islanders won, 3-2. The photo, plaque and two scoresheets are displayed in an 18¾ x 40-inch black and clear plastic glass frame. Under Arbour, the Islanders won four consecutive Stanley Cups from 1980 to 1983. Arbour retired after the 1993–94 season, having led the Islanders to a second playoff berth where they were swept in the first round by the Presidents' Trophy-winning New York Rangers, who went on to capture the Stanley Cup. At that time Arbour had won 739 games as an Islander coach, and a banner with that number was raised to the rafters at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on January 25, 1997. On November 3, 2007, Arbour returned, at the request of Islanders coach Ted Nolan, to coach his 1,500th game for the Islanders. At age 75, he became the oldest man ever to coach a National Hockey League game. The Islanders beat the Penguins 3–2, giving Arbour his 740th win. The 739-win banner was brought down, and replaced with one with the number 1500, representing the total number of games coached. He is the only coach in NHL history to coach 1,500 games for the same team. Arbour died on August 28, 2015 at age 82.
