The only thing keeping Hall of Famer Cal Ripken, Jr. from catching Lou Gehrig for the all time consecutive games streak was a labor war between the owners and players that ultimately doomed the finish of the 1994 season and the beginning of the 1995 season. Ripken played in 112 games in 1994, hitting 13 home runs, driving in 75 and maintaining a solid .315 average. Ripken wore this black mesh pullover practice jersey with two buttons on the top during the 1994 season. This Majestic size 48 jersey has “Orioles” and a paraph sewn on the front in orange and white tackle twill. The Majestic Diamond Collection tag with a size 48 flag is sewn on the front left tail. The back has “8” sewn on in orange and white tackle twill. A white sticker has been clipped to the back collar that has handwritten in blue marker “Only Practice Jer 94”. Please note that part of the tag was torn. This jersey displays light use and comes directly from the personal collection of Cal Ripken, Jr. with a signed LOA from Cal that will accompany this item.
