New York Mets ace Dwight “Doc” Gooden wore this white Mets home jersey in 1994, during his final season with the Mets. Gooden won three games in seven starts during the 1994 season, striking out 40 batters in 41.1 innings as the veteran pitcher played in his 11th campaign with New York’s Senior Circuit outfit. Gooden finished his Mets career with 157 wins and a 3.10 ERA, as well as the 1985 National League Cy Young Award. A World Series winner with the Mets in 1986, Gooden remains a team legend for his impeccable pitching in the 1980’s. This offered Mets home jersey is a pinstriped white button-down, with “Mets” and Gooden’s number “16” sewn on the chest of the jersey in blue, orange, and white tackle twill. “GOODEN” and a second “16” are sewn on the back of the jersey, also in blue, orange, and white tackle twill. A “Miracle Mets” 25th Anniversary patch is sewn on the left sleeve, while an MLB 125th Anniversary patch and a Russell Athletic logo are sewn on the right sleeve. A Russell Athletic size “48” tag with an attached “100% Polyester” flag is sewn on the front left tail. Gooden has signed the back of the jersey in blue marker, inscribing “Game Used 1994” in addition to his signature. The jersey shows light wear and comes with a LOA from noted baseball game used jersey expert William Henderson.
