The Hall of Fame second baseman Ryne Sandberg wore this pinstriped Chicago Cubs home jersey during the 1996 MLB season. Sandberg returned from a one-season retirement in 1995 to hit .244 with 25 homers and 92 RBI in 1996 to further solidify his Hall of Fame resume. Sandberg added 28 doubles, four triples, and 85 runs scored for Jim Riggleman’s Cubs in his age-36 season. Sandberg played one final season in 1997 before retiring for good with a career .285 batting average and 282 home runs.

This offered Cubs jersey is a pinstriped white button-down with a large circular Cubs logo sewn on the left chest. “SANDBERG” and his number “23” are sewn on the back of the jersey in blue and red tackle twill. A second circular Cubs logo is sewn on the left sleeve while a Russell Athletic logo is sewn on the right sleeve. A Russell Athletic size “46” tag with attached “100% Polyester”, “Sleeve Length”, and “1[inch] Extra Length” flags is sewn on the front left tail. A “46-96-2” flag is sewn on the back inside collar. Sandberg has signed the back of the jersey in blue marker, inscribing “9/14/96” in addition to his signature. The jersey comes with a LOA from Beckett Authentication Services and a LOA from noted baseball game used jersey expert William Henderson.
