On August 4, 2014, Miami Heat star and 3-time NBA Champion Dwyane Wade teamed up with The Brisky Gallery to create a series of unique pieces of modern art. Wade’s canvas was a 24 x 24-inch game used section of the Staples Center wood flooring and his brush a regulation NBA basketball. The wood panel was framed and is now 25 x 25 x 2-inches. Of all the pieces created that day, this one in particular stands out. Titled “In the Paint,” the piece features the pair of Dwyane Wade’s size 15 game used sneakers, NBA Official Adam Silver stamped indoor/outdoor basketball and a section of the Staples Center floor upon which the 2011 All-Star Game was played. The sneakers worn during the paining are tagged as “SAMPLE NOT FOR RELEASE”. The four elements are covered in Wade’s artistic strokes, combining a rainbow of acrylic colors to create this unique sculptural display. The pieces are moveable, enabling the owner to display them in their own vision. The piece is completed with Wade’s signature in black marker on the basketball. Certainly, one of the more obscure pieces of sports memorabilia one will find that combines artistic expression with athletic ability. This piece comes with a LOA from The Brisky Gallery for the game use and signature.
